Caught a Lakewood-St. Pete practice this week and of course got a close look at Alabama TE/WR commitment Amari Niblack along the way. He stands a legit 6'5 or so and appears to have filled out even more since the last time I saw him in person, in May for his spring game.
Niblack was rocking some Alabama gloves and says everything is great with the program. He plans on taking his official visit to Tuscaloosa the weekend of the UT game (10/23) and has no plans to see any other campuses, though programs continue to inquire about him.
"I'm locked in," he said.
Niblack considers himself a hybrid pass catcher and continues to point to the Julio Jones reference Nick Saban gave him after dominating at camp this summer.
Lakewood has high expectations in 2021 and a big-time schedule with a road game at Chanminade-Madonna and a home game against Lakeland in addition to their regional opponents.
